Drunken Mussels ($14), Bleu Ribbon Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich ($17)

Drunken Mussels: One pound of Blue Mussels simmered in a rich sherry-garlic broth, mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and herb toast points.

Bleu Ribbon Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich: House breaded chicken breast tossed in honey buffalo sauce topped with bleu cheese crumbles, lettuce, tomato and pickles and served on a brioche bun. Fries on the side.

Sous Chef Jason Scott joined the team at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center and Legends Sports Bar just a month ago and has put together some dishes he thinks guests (especially dads) will be really happy about. For Penn State history lovers, it’s important to note that the walls of Legends Sports Bar are filled with interesting facts and photos that will keep you entertained while you eat. 

With Father’s Day falling towards the beginning of Happy Valley Restaurant Week, Chef Scott is aiming to please the dads with the specials he has prepared to be enjoyed for lunch or dinner.  The Bleu Ribbon Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich is a deep fried, house breaded cutlet with a sweet kick of heat, nicely balanced with the bleu cheese. Blue mussels are in season and bring a bit of beachiness to Central PA. Scott leaves us with some good questions: “What dad wouldn’t love a shareable? And what’s better than a drunken mussel?”

Chef Scott keeps raving about the Friday Night Prime Rib Buffet that happens in the Garden’s Restaurant right next to Legends with freshly carved prime rib, seasonal salads, desserts and more. So we would be remiss to not tell you about it!
