Cheesy Rub
When Andy Lee started at Penn State, he knew he wanted to open his own franchise. He also knew he wanted to do it in State College. “I always knew I wanted to come back,” he said.
As a Division III soccer student-athlete at Penn State Berks, he cooked weekly meals for his teammates, who raved over his Korean flavors. “When I cooked something, they had to eat it, no questions,” he said. “They all said, you need to do this more, it brings people together.”
He opened Tasty K in October of 2023 and says it’s been great. “Our neighborhood is fantastic. We’re going to make it famous.”
Check it out for Happy Valley Restaurant Week when Tasty K will be featuring a the Cheesy Rub they launched last HVRW (“This is only available during this event!” says Andy.) in addition to the traditional red gochujang-based sauce or black soy-based sauces.
